From the ship, he immediately took us up into the mountains. On narrow roads and rough terrain. That was a great ride. We stopped at very scenic locations, and were given plenty of time to take pictures and look around. Lunch was in an excellent restaurant. The food was varied and delicious. Service was outstanding. We were unaware of Madeira being mountainous we climbed about 3500 feet. The roads are extremely steep. We were told they are up to 27degrees. We stopped at a little store and had poncha. They made a patch for the 4 of us. Best poncha we had on the island. We then stopped at Cabo girao a glass floored lookout about 1000 feet off the ocean”
